A Transformative Legacy

Ronald L. Vaughn: A Transformative Legacy is a short tribute film that Roundhouse Creative Studio brought me on to write and edit, honoring Ronald Vaughn's tenure as the University of Tampa's outgoing president. The footage had been gathered over three years before I came on board, with little creative direction attached, which meant the job started with more than 50 interviews and the task of independently identifying the throughline, the structure, and the story worth telling. Conceived as a surprise gift to Vaughn, the film had to carry the prestige and gravity that befits a milestone in higher education, while still being built around someone who had no idea it was coming. The result landed: there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
